Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineer, under the general direction of Engineering Manager, is responsible for the complete design cycle ownership of precision automation equipment. This responsibility includes completing machine designs and detailed drawings as well as BOM’s within the planned time schedule as required for customer orders.


The Mechanical Engineer must be able to interpret complex engineering specifications and apply those specifications to the design of components and sub-assemblies using sound design principles, creative and independent judgment, and generate accurate detailed drawings and BOMs. These drawings and documents will be generated using SolidWorks and completed in a manner consistent with Kinematic Automation standards, policy and procedure. Must be able to develop documentation and collaborate with Controls Engineering as required to develop machine control systems.


This position will require the ability to effectively communicate with customers, manufacturing staff and vendors to gather and disseminate necessary information related to projects. Mechanical Engineer will be required to research, select and requisition commercial parts as well as be responsible for managing his/her time and to report any adverse progress of the completion of tasks to the Engineering Manager.



Education and Experience - High school or higher degree. Minimum five years’ experience in complete design cycle ownership of Mechanical design packages typical of precision automation equipment. Experience with precision and high-speed material handling equipment required.


Skills - Required: General computer literacy, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MS Office, machine design. Preferred: machining techniques, fabrication techniques, high speed material handling, web handling experience, coating, laminating, slitting.

Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:

  • Designs electrical control systems for high speed automation equipment
  • Creates bills of material and schematics based on customer requirements and internal design standards
  • Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
  • Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


Electrical Engineer Experience and Skills:

Minimum of 5 years’ of experience is required


Experience Solidworks Electrical as well as AutoCad software is required

Machine Builder / Assembly Technician

Kinematic Operations Team has a full time with overtime opportunity for a machine builder / assembly technician.  As new custom machine builder, learn the following:


  • How to mechanically and electrically build and assemble custom automated manufacturing   equipment and machinery.
  • How to build electrical panels and the wiring of electrical devices.
  • How to read pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical assembly drawings.
  • Pneumatic & hydraulic panel building and plumbing of valves and cylinders, etc.
  • How to participate in the start-up, troubleshooting, and debugging related to the assembly process in accordance with company documentation and procedures.
  • Skills of time management, safety awareness, quality assurance, best practices in the completion of projects.


Ideal Machine Builder Candidate would have:


  • A desire to gain skills and become competent in the duties listed above.
  • A basic understanding and curiosity for electrical theory and principles.
  • A basic understanding and curiosity for mechanical theory and principles.
  • A desire to work with their hands to create industrial equipment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • A strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.


Physical Demands:


  • This position may require constant standing and frequent walking, kneeling, bending, crouching and twisting.
  • Capable of climbing in overhead structures, to working beneath machines and in close quarters performing to complete machinery build and repair work.
  • Maximum lifting weight can reach about 50lbs, maximum carrying weight is about 30lbs, and the maximum pushing and pulling weights can reach 100-150lbs.


While experience is not required, we will be looking for the best candidate and starting compensation will be based on related experience:


  • Machine building or similar experience in a related industry
  • Vocational school or junior technical college training in the related industry
  • 5+ years’ experience in any of the following trades - Machinist, Tool and Die, or Millwright
  • Experience working to close tolerances and making equipment adjustments to meet those tolerances
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical prints, building and trouble-shooting automated assembly equipment
